On a visit to Florida, I joined my friend Hedy for her sunrise hike along the ocean’s edge. The lush colors – pink, orange, golden yellow, blue, slate grey – and fantastical cloud shapes enthralled us. Everyday captivating. Everyday different.

But while nature’s beauty thrilled us, our man-made catastrophes haunted us. This series explores that dichotomy.
